From the 21st–22nd August 2025, key stakeholders met at Rockview Hotel, Abuja for the National Electronic Pharmacy Platform (NEPP) Ideation Workshop, organized by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) with support from SFH & PSN Foundation.

Day 1 Highlights included; Discussions on how the platform should work, from design to regulation, Introduction of the ePharmacy Club to make registration faster and more efficient, Calls to strengthen checks against unlicensed pharmacies, Agreement to use the WHO SMART Guidelines to guide documentation, Review of practical user scenarios and system processes.
All participants agreed that for NEPP to succeed, it must combine strong regulation, active stakeholder engagement, and long-term sustainability planning.

This workshop is an important step toward building a trusted, innovative platform that will improve access to safe and reliable pharmacy services across Nigeria.

The second day of the National Electronic Pharmacy Platform Ideation Workshop (22 August 2025) focused on turning ideas into a working system with strong discussions on compliance, data, and a first look at the pharmacy app prototype.

Some of the outcomes discussed from this meeting were:
Participants agreed on clear action points finalizing workflows, refining data, ensuring generic drug names only, and aligning with PCN frameworks.

The two-day workshop successfully brought regulators, private sector players, and technical experts together around a shared vision for NEPP, balancing compliance, innovation, and usability to build a safer, smarter digital pharmacy future for Nigeria.
