From 22nd July, 2024 we hosted an intensive Family Planning Training Session for a new cohort of community pharmacists and telemedicine providers, reinforcing our commitment to expanding access to reproductive health services across communities.

This comprehensive training program was meticulously designed to equip these healthcare professionals with the latest knowledge, tools, and skills needed to provide high-quality family planning services tailored to the needs of diverse populations.

During the session, participants engaged in interactive workshops and practical demonstrations covering key areas such as:

• Comprehensive Contraceptive Methods: Exploring the full spectrum of family planning options, including hormonal and non-hormonal methods, long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs), and emergency contraception.
• Client-Centered Counseling: Learning strategies to guide individuals and couples in making informed decisions that align with their reproductive goals and preferences.
• Digital Health Solutions (DHS): Harnessing the power of technology to streamline service delivery, with a focus on platforms such as ePharma4FP, telemedicine tools, and innovative hybrid models for enhanced accessibility.
• Cultural Sensitivity & Communication: Building trust and fostering open dialogue within diverse communities to ensure inclusive, equitable care.

Participants also engaged in hands-on practice with digital platforms and family planning tools, enabling them to seamlessly integrate both traditional and tech-driven approaches into their daily practice.

By the end of the session, this cohort of pharmacists and telemedicine providers expressed enthusiasm and confidence in their ability to deliver impactful family planning services. Equipped with cutting-edge knowledge and resources, they are now better prepared to support their communities, particularly underserved and hard-to-reach populations, in accessing the family planning products and services they need.
